It is with tremendous joy that we introduce the 2024-2025 LW Westfall Teacher of the Year. It is a prestigious honor to be named as the Westfall Teacher of the Year because it comes directly from this dynamic faculty.  Please help me give a giant round of applause for Mrs. Whitwell!  Mrs. Whitwell, please join me. 

Here are a few things the faculty wrote when nominating Mrs. Whitwell as our teacher of the year. 

Mrs. Whitwell has been introducing our littlest learners to education through play, fostering curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills that have set the stage for future academic success. She also teaches our children how to share, express emotions, resolve conflicts, and build friendships. Her work directly supports social and emotional development, which we all know is just as vital to success as academic knowledge. She has immense patience, compassion, and dedication. She has managed a lot of emotional and physical demands and consistently offers positive reinforcement to support children’s self-esteem and love for learning.

She has so much grace and ease. She is amazing!!!

Mrs. Whitwell is working wonders while taking on the added responsibilities of the changes provided by full day PreK. I truly appreciate how hard she works to ensure success to all the PreK students, which in turn sets the stage for success through all the grade levels. She is instilling a strong foundation of learning and skills.

Lisa has been a dedicated teacher for many years. She thinks about the needs of her students from the time they enter her classroom and continues to encourage those students after they leave her room. This year she has taken on additional duties and tasks with an abundance of grace and dedication. She has a heart to give our students what they need. She also supports her coworkers with kindness and understanding.
